Dale Richter, 73, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at home of natural causes. He was born January 28, 1953, in Waterloo, son of George and Helen (Brucato) Richter. He was a 1971 graduate of Waterloo West High School.

Dale married Erma J. Stocks on October 3, 1980; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2025. He worked for John Deere Co. in the Foundry for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. Dale had a deep love for his family and friends and enjoyed time spent with them.

Dale is survived by his sons: DJ (Amanda) Richter of Waterloo, Bryan Richter of Jesup, Cody Richter of Cedar Falls, and Kelly (Katie) Richter of Broomfield, CO; daughter Tanya (Eric) Mrzlak of Denver, IA; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Richard "Dick" (Pat) Richter of Waterloo, and Michael "Mike" (Laura) Richter of New Hartford; and friends Rick Greenhalgh, and Lonnie Thien.

He was preceded in death by his wife Erma Richter, daughter Melissa Richter, and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 3, at Locke Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave, with visitation from 4 - 6:00 PM Monday, February 2, at Locke Garden View Chapel, as well as one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice.
